The Miu Miu Ballerina in powder pink is the softest of the archive run — pale, milky-pink patent calfskin in a low-cut ballet shape, finished with the engraved Miu Miu metal logo plaque at the toe, an elasticated topline and a thin leather sole. Made in Italy in a colour that reads pastel in daylight and almost nude indoors.

Built on the same Miuccia-revived archive last as the rest of the patent run: a slim throat, contoured leather insole and a paper-thin leather sole. The elasticated edge holds the shoe snug at the foot, the patent finish catches light gently, and the colour does most of the work — neat with tailored trousers, a slip dress or full-skirted denim.

The most romantic of the three patent colourways, and the easiest to layer into a soft palette of cream, beige and ivory.
